Yamaha Motor Co. scored a record group net profit of 25.56 billion yen for the year through March, up roughly threefold from the previous year, the company said Wednesday.
The motorcycle maker in Shizuoka Prefecture attributed the result to increased motorcycle sales, manufacturing cost reductions and the depreciation of the yen against the euro.
Its consolidated operating profit for fiscal 2002 jumped 81.9 percent for the previous year to 67.68 billion yen.
