Toyota Motor Corp. said Thursday it will launch a remodeled version of the eco-friendly Prius compact -- featuring a cutting-edge gasoline-electric hybrid system -- in Japan, the U.S. and Europe by the end of the year.
The nation's largest carmaker is striving to consolidate its position as a market leader in terms of environmentally friendly vehicle technology.
The more powerful 1.5-liter Prius has achieved improved fuel efficiency via the use of a high-voltage electrical system, the company said.
