A semigovernmental medical relief group has leaked personal data on patients who sought help in relation to the adverse side effects of medicines to medical institutions that prescribed the drugs, according to an official of the organization.
The Organization for Pharmaceutical Safety and Research contends the action is a necessary measure to ensure that the public relief system covering adverse drug reactions runs smoothly.
The government, however, apparently views it as a possible violation of privacy.
