Game console and software maker Nintendo Co. said Monday it has revised its earnings estimates downward for fiscal 2002 due to lower-than-expected sales of game consoles.
The company said it expects to post a group net profit of 66 billion yen and pretax profit of 95 billion yen on sales of 500 billion yen.
The firm on Nov. 21 predicted a group net profit of 80 billion yen and pretax profit of 110 billion yen on sales of 600 billion yen.
In the previous business year, which ended March 31, 2002, Nintendo reported a group net profit of 106.44 billion yen and pretax profit of 186.62 billion yen, on sales of 554.89 billion yen.
