Suzuki Motor Corp. has told sales companies under its direct management to handle only auto insurance offered by three select property and casualty insurance houses, sources said Thursday.
By handling more insurance per insurer, the sales companies, acting as insurance agencies, will earn greater commissions.
The three insurance companies are Tokio Marine & Fire Insurance Co., Nichido Fire & Marine Insurance Co. and Sompo Japan Insurance Co.
Other automakers, including Nissan Motor Co., are doing the same.
