As war correspondents make the most of their opportunity to cover the fighting in Iraq, the president of the nonprofit organization Reporters Without Borders voiced concern Tuesday over their safety and the extent to which freedom of the press is respected.
Robert Menard, a French journalist with 25 years of experience, founded the Paris-based group in 1985. The group works internationally to support media freedom.
More than 600 journalists from around the globe have been allowed to report on the fighting inside Iraq.
