Ricoh Co. said Wednesday its group net profit in the October-December term rose 19.5 percent over the previous year to 17.8 billion yen on strong sales of network basic input/output system (NetBIOS) devices.
In a consolidated earnings report compiled under U.S. accounting standards, the office equipment maker said its pretax profit in the three-month period jumped 15.9 percent to 29.99 billion yen on sales of 420.74 billion yen, up 4.8 percent.
Per-share net profit in the quarter came to 24.51 yen, up from 21.41 yen in the corresponding term a year earlier.
Ricoh reported robust domestic and international sales of full-color, high-speed multifunction printers and laser printers during the period.
For the full fiscal year to March 31, Ricoh forecast its group net profit and pretax profit will come to 73.2 billion yen and 125.1 billion yen on projected sales of 1.74 trillion yen.
