A 66-year-old man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of fatally stabbing a male acquaintance in Tokyo's Bunkyo Ward, police said.

The suspect, identified as security guard Yoshie Kato, allegedly stabbed 37-year-old Tomoyuki Kubota of Konosu, Saitama Prefecture, in the chest during a quarrel.

Police quoted Kato as saying he got upset because the victim incessantly said bad things about him.

According to investigations, the two men spent Saturday night eating and drinking with another man. They got into an argument and parted, but Kubota later showed up at Kato's apartment to continue the row, police said.
