OSAKA -- A man was found dead of apparent stab wounds Tuesday morning in a parking lot in Kishiwada, Osaka Prefecture, police said.
The victim was identified as Nobuhiro Yoshimoto, a 46-year-old company employee who lived close to the lot. He had sustained stab wounds to the neck and chest, police said.
A person living near the site spotted Yoshimoto lying in the parking lot and called an ambulance at around 7:10 a.m., but Yoshimoto was already dead when medics arrived, police said.
There were no visible signs that Yoshimoto had put up a struggle, and his wallet was still in his pocket.
Yohimoto left home at around 6:30 a.m., according to his family
Police believe he was attacked right after he entered the parking lot.
The car he used for commuting was still in the lot, with its doors locked.
Police did not find any apparent murder weapon at the scene, which is located in a residential area about 400 meters southwest of Haruki Station on the Nankai Honsen Line of the Nankai Electric Railway.
