Asian engineers from outside Japan participating in an exchange program aimed at promoting urban development and international relations said at a presentation at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building Wednesday that they had generally favorable impressions of Japanese people.
The 24 participants -- from Beijing, Jakarta and Hanoi -- of the Asian Youth Engineers Training Program described Japanese people as kindhearted and well-mannered and claimed they were impressed by their seriousness and hardworking attitude.
"The trains and stations are so crowded, especially during rush hours, but Japanese people lined up so orderly to board the trains," Zhen Jiansheng from Beijing said to the audience of company representatives and Japanese-language instructors.
