OSAKA -- Twenty-one nations from around Asia concluded a two-day seminar here Friday in which they learned from experts about the specific provisions of the United Nations Transnational Organized Crime Convention.
The convention, adopted in November 2000, has been signed by the European Community and 141 nations, including Japan, and has been ratified by 18 countries.
It features measures to deal with a variety of international crime issues, including white slavery, money laundering, the distribution of small firearms and the extradition of criminal suspects.
