The government will consider introducing flexible school holidays so families with children can take more relaxed and less-crowded summer and other vacations, government officials said Monday.
Under the plan, the government may introduce so-called request holidays for elementary and junior high schools, allowing children to take some days off during normal school time, the officials said.
The government will also look into shortening the summer holiday period and introducing a fall vacation around October, they said.
