Insurance firms are stepping up efforts to sell policies covering damage caused by accidents at fireworks displays and other entertainment events organized by municipalities or communities.
The policies also cover financial damages organizers incur when an entertainment event is suddenly canceled due to bad weather.
The insurers appear to be seeing good sales of the new policies in light of increasing numbers of lawsuits in which spectators sue event organizers over mishaps.
