Nonresident investors turned net sellers on the Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya bourses in July for the first time in six months, with a record number of stocks sold.
They sold a net 510.22 billion yen worth of Japanese stocks at the nation's three major stock exchanges between July 1 and Aug. 2, a turnaround from net buying of 146.89 billion yen in June, according to Tokyo Stock Exchange data.
They sold a record 5.09 billion shares at the bourses in the reporting month, topping the previous record of 5.07 billion shares set in October.
