Former Financial Services Agency Commissioner Shoji Mori has assumed the newly created post of special adviser to the minister for financial services, the agency said Monday.
Mori stepped down as FSA commissioner last month and was succeeded by Shokichi Takagi.
Mori is credited with having devised a series of measures to revive the stability of the debt-burdened banking system.
