OSAKA -- In the wake of a spate of problems at the Universal Studios Japan theme park, the Osaka Municipal Government will call for greater disclosure of information and a review of the park's public relations, it was learned Sunday.

The Osaka government is the largest shareholder of the park's operator, USJ Co.

The move comes while USJ is dealing with several scandals that have occurred since early July. It had failed to report promptly that one of its drinking fountains was dispensing untreated industrial water, and that it was using more explosives in attractions than it had received permission to use.
