Police arrested a 49-year-old woman Thursday on suspicion of strangling her 14-year-old daughter at home in Tokyo and keeping the body in a closet and a refrigerator for two weeks.
Keiko Ishikawa told police that she strangled her daughter Taeko on July 11 after the girl became violent. She said they had quarreled when she tried to tell Taeko off about her attitude and behavior, police said.
"(Taeko) was violent at home on a regular basis, and she suddenly tried to beat me when I scolded her," Ishikawa was quoted as telling police.
