Kawasaki Steel Corp., the nation's third-largest steelmaker, said Friday it and Germany's Georgsmarienhuette GmbH (GMH) have signed a comprehensive tieup accord in the field of special steel bars.
The steelmakers will act jointly to manufacture technology and develop special steel bars for use by automakers, and makers of bearings and other parts, Kawasaki Steel said.
The alliance intends to supply highly competitive products and services worldwide to better correspond with the globalization of their clients, it said.
GMH is Germany's largest maker of special steel bars and a major supplier to German and other European carmakers.
