Failed construction firm Sato Kogyo Co. held on Friday the first meeting of its creditors, asking for help with its rehabilitation.
"I heartily apologize to you all," Hiroshi Yoshida, former Sato Kogyo president, told the roughly 1,000 participants at the meeting in Tokyo.
He said the firm's collapse was inevitable due to a plunge in construction projects, a drastically changed financial situation and a wave of reorganization in the construction industry.
