The government will try to release a second antideflation policy package by the end of this month, Finance Minister Masajuro Shiokawa said Tuesday.
"We have to present an expanded version" of the first package, unveiled Feb. 27, Shiokawa said at a meeting of the Lower House Budget Committee.
Heizo Takenaka, minister of economic and fiscal policy, told the committee the government must study more policy options and take additional steps.
