GumBusters Japan, a Tokyo-based venture business, said Tuesday it has launched a service to instantaneously remove chewing gum from pavement, walls and other surfaces with a specially designed cart.

The Dutch-made cart uses a brush to softly rub off gum while spraying hot, low-pressure steam and cleaning fluid over it.

In a demonstration in front of Tokyo's Shibuya Station, a piece of gum disappeared within five seconds.

GumBusters Japan was founded in January by an automobile accessory importer and other companies. It will market the service mainly to railway stations and local governments with an eye toward chalking up sales of 100 million yen this year.
