Snow Brand Foods Co. will lay off most of its 1,000 employees in March and disband in April, the scandal-tainted firm said Friday.
Snow Brand Foods, a subsidiary of Snow Brand Milk Products Co., made the decision at a board meeting earlier in the day. The firm said it will hold an extraordinary meeting of shareholders in late April to dissolve itself.
"I do not know how I can apologize to the customers who have loved our products and other companies with which we have had transactions," Snow Brand Foods President Koshiro Iwase said.
