Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. said Thursday it expects to log consolidated net losses of 438 billion yen in fiscal 2001.
This marks a sharp decline from its earlier projection of 265 billion yen in losses.
The staggering losses, the consumer electronics manufacturer said, reflect the current recession within the information technology sector and lackluster domestic consumption.
