A new online recruiting site opens its doors today, targeting university students and people searching for employment in a bilingual environment.
The JobTimes site at job.japantimes.com is a joint venture between The Japan Times Entertainment Inc. and Tokyo-based Bunkahoso Career Partners Co.
Designed for people interested in bilingual careers, Job- Times personalizes the job search experience for each user, matching openings -- part-time, full-time and internships -- with users' interests and career goals.
Users can browse through various employment opportunities with Japanese firms and international companies with offices in Japan. Resumes can be submitted in both English and Japanese.
The site is one pillar of an overall redesign of The Japan Times Online Web site by The Japan Times and its parent company, Nifco.
Other projects include an online e-learning center for English-language students and teachers of all ages scheduled to go online later this year.
Visitors who register at the JobTimes Web site during its opening campaign can win prizes, including a Sony voice recorder, a Casio electronic dictionary and language-training books from The Japan Times Publications Department.
