Fujitsu Ltd. and Accenture Corp. said Tuesday they will jointly provide information technology-based solutions to firms seeking to improve their business strategies.

Accenture Corp. is the Japan unit of Accenture Ltd. of the United States.

The consulting service provider, based in Chicago, and the Japanese computer giant set up a team of 30 working-level professionals to proceed with business based on the new alliance, they said.

The tieup will combine the duo's management consulting knowhow, IT knowledge and computerized network buildup capabilities, they said.

Fujitsu and Accenture "have agreed to engage in joint business to provide customers with the most appropriate total solutions with emphasis placed on strategic use of IT," they said in a joint statement.

Yuji Hirose, Fujitsu senior managing director, and Accenture Corp. President Masakatsu Mori will lead the new team, Fujitsu spokesman Masatoshi Tsuda said.

The alliance will seek to provide IT solutions and consulting services to a broad range of customers, including automakers, precision instruments makers and local governments seeking to computerize their public services, they said.

The two firms will also cooperate to train business managers in IT, the firms said.
