Snow Brand Foods Co., the meat packer hit by a fraudulent beef-labeling scandal, said Thursday it will cut the salaries of its president and two senior managing directors by 50 percent next month.
The parent firm, meanwhile, appears to be caught up in some political controversy, as a senior official of the agriculture ministry was called on to answer critics who accused the government with meddling in the management of Snow Brand Milk Products Co.
A day earlier the ministry had told Snow Brand Milk that the struggling firm should not form a capital alliance with a foreign company as it tries to restructure.
