Seventy-five percent of respondents to a recent Internet survey believe Snow Brand Milk Products Co. will not be able to regain the trust of consumers even if it carries out a restructuring program.

Some 2,832 people responded to the survey, which was conducted from Tuesday morning by Kyodo News and Yahoo! Japan Corp.

They were asked to choose one out of four prepared answers in response to the question of whether the Snow Brand group will be able to regain consumer confidence after carrying out a restructuring program.

Twelve percent said the company would need to reform itself under the auspices of a different firm, while 6 percent said they would trust the firm if it made a fresh start after dissolving the parent company.

Only 5 percent said they thought the group would be able to regain consumers' confidence.
