Top officials of Teikyo University have been conducting backdoor admissions to the institution's medical department for years, according to university sources.
The officials obtained blanket authority from the faculty council originally in charge of determining admissions, the sources told Kyodo News.
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology said it will question the officials to establish a clear picture of what is going on at the university, which allegedly receives money in the suspected admissions scam.
