Industrial output for November declined 1.8 percent from a month before to a 14-year low, according to a preliminary report released Thursday by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
The seasonally adjusted production index at mines and factories came to 90.9 against a 100-point benchmark established in 1995, marking a decline for three consecutive months.
The figure is the lowest since November 1987, when industrial output recorded 90, adjusted to be comparable with figures based on the 1995 benchmark.
