A final report currently being drafted by a government deregulation panel says restrictions on advertising by medical institutions should be relaxed by the end of March, panel sources said Thursday.
The Council for Regulatory Reform, which advises Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, is scheduled to submit the report to Koizumi next week after Nobuteru Ishihara, minister for administrative reform, and Yoshihiko Miyauchi, the council's chairman, approve the draft Friday, the sources said.
Although the final report incorporates deregulatory proposals in 15 fields, it says the government should prioritize deregulation in six areas, according to the sources.
