The Liberal Democratic Party's top policymaker proposed on Wednesday a set of measures that comprise a vision for stimulating the economy.
Taro Aso, chairman of the LDP Policy Research Council, put forward the recommendations in a paper titled the "Aso Vision" during a meeting of the LDP's economic recovery panel.
Aso is urging a virtual rethinking of a range of government policies. The move, unusual for someone in his post, unveils a widening gulf in economic policy between the government and LDP legislators.
