The Diet's Judges Impeachment Court said Wednesday it dismissed a Tokyo High Court judge convicted of paying for sex with teenagers.
Yasuhiro Muraki, 43, was also stripped of his qualifications to work as a lawyer but may file an appeal against the ban after five years.
Muraki, who has been suspended from duty, is the fifth judge to be dismissed in Japan and the first since 1981. He is also the first to be impeached by the Diet following conviction in a criminal court.
