Isuzu Motors Ltd. on Monday reported consolidated net and pretax losses for the first half that ended Sept. 30 and announced it will cut an additional 3,300 jobs to bring its group workforce down from some 38,000 to 24,700 by March 2004.
Isuzu, owned 49 percent by General Motors Corp. of the U.S., announced in May plans to chop 9,700 jobs, or 26 percent of its group workforce, by March 2004 under a three-year restructuring plan.
Of the 3,300 additional job cuts, 2,400 will be at the parent firm, 600 at domestic sales affiliates and 300 at other subsidiaries, Isuzu said.
