A 19-year-old who fled the Kurihama Juvenile Training School last year was literally running out of options.
"He was a bit of a sad case," an official of the reformatory in Kanagawa Prefecture said of the unnamed teenager, who was arrested after a crime spree committed while "on the run" in Saitama Prefecture.
"He was supposed to be discharged soon, but I guess he became reckless because we were having trouble finding a place that would accept him," said Takashi Nakagawa, deputy superintendent of the institution.
