NTT Data Corp. said Friday it registered a consolidated net profit of 10.84 billion yen in the first half of fiscal 2001, down 2.8 percent from a year earlier.
The leading systems integrator also reported a consolidated pretax profit of 19.82 billion yen for the April-September period, down 0.2 percent, on a 1.2 percent drop in group sales to 342.27 billion yen.
The sales and profit declines reflect a 7.6 percent fall in sales to 258.88 billion yen and a 12.3 percent decline in operating profit to 27.06 billion yen in the systems integration division.
While the division won orders related to financial industry integration in the fiscal 2000 first half, it got no such orders in the first half of the current fiscal year.
For the entire fiscal year, the company forecasted consolidated net and pretax profits of 27 billion yen and 48 billion yen on group sales of 8.1 trillion yen, down from the previous year's net profit of 24.4 billion yen and pretax profit of 46 billion yen on sales of 8.01 trillion yen.
NTT Data plans to pay an annual dividend of 1,000 yen per share for fiscal 2001, although the plan may be changed depending on fiscal second half results.
The company has set aside capital outlays of 174 billion yen for the current fiscal year, up 10 billion yen over the preceding year.
