Foreign Minister Makiko Tanaka attracted another barrage of criticism from across the political spectrum Friday after she pushed back a meeting with a foreign dignitary by 40 minutes the night before.
The delayed meeting was with visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Kamal Kharrazi.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Yasuo Fukuda told a news conference: "In general, it is not appropriate to have a guest waiting as long as half an hour without good reasons."
