OSAKA -- More than 900 people filed three separate lawsuits Thursday against Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, claiming his Aug. 13 visit to Yasukuni Shrine was unconstitutional.
About 640 people filed a suit with the Osaka District Court, 65 others with the district court in Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture, and 211 more with a court in Fukuoka.
Advocacy groups in Tokyo and Chiba are also preparing to sue the government over the Yasukuni controversy.
