Honda Motor Co. said Tuesday the first half of its business year resulted in record-high consolidated sales and midterm net profit due to brisk domestic sales and a weaker yen.
Honda posted a consolidated net profit of 173.74 billion yen, up 12.5 percent from a year earlier, on sales of 3.505 trillion yen, up 14.8 percent.
The previous records for interim net profit (158.2 billion yen) and sales (3.134 trillion yen) were posted in the April-September period of 1998.
