A woman whose husband and son were killed by Peru's military under former Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori said Friday that Tokyo should help bring to justice the disgraced president, who is now living in Japan.
Peruvian Rosa Rojas Borda said her husband and 8-year-old son were shot by Peru's antiguerrilla military forces during a party they were holding to raise funds to fix the drainage. She added that to this day, she does not know why the incident happened.
They were two of 15 people who died in Lima's Barrios Altos district in 1991, an incident known as the Massacre in Barrios Altos. Fujimori has been indicted by Peruvian prosecutors for his alleged involvement in the affair, as well as in the 1992 killing of 10 people at La Cantuta University.
