MAKUHARI, Chiba Pref. -- German auto giant Volkswagen AG is accelerating sales promotions to increase its presence in Asia, especially in Japan and China, according to an executive of the firm.
Attending the 35th Tokyo Motor Show here, Robert Buchelhofer, a board member of Volkswagen in charge of marketing, said in an interview with The Japan Times that VW will focus on expanding in major Asian cities.
In Japan, the carmaker needs to expand its sales network in Tokyo and Osaka, and offer a wider range of models, Buchelhofer said.
