The Tokyo District Public Prosecutor's Office arrested two accountants and an accounting official Monday in connection with an embezzlement case involving UBC Corp.
UBC is an affiliate of the All Japan Prefectural and Municipal Workers Union, also known as Jichiro, a major union that mainly represents local government workers.
Arrested were Yoichi Tokuda, a 37-year-old tax accountant; Michihiro Kuniyasu, a 44-year-old certified public accountant; and 38-year-old Koichi Suzuki, a UBC official in charge of accounting. Tokuda and Kuniyasu are both Tokyo residents, with the former employed at the latter's office.
