Delivery of mail to Afghanistan from Japan has been suspended, according to the Postal Services Agency.
The measure follows a notice from Afghanistan's postal authorities via the Pakistani government Saturday that they are no longer able to handle post from abroad following intensifying U.S.-led air strikes on Taliban targets in the country.
The agency said it will return to senders all post addressed to Afghanistan currently in its possession together with postage fees.
