In a visit to Seoul on Oct. 15, Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi will tour a museum dedicated to political prisoners incarcerated under Japanese colonial rule, government sources said Friday.
The museum is located inside a former prison in Seoul's Sodaemun district. During colonial rule, many anti-Japanese movement leaders and other political prisoners were detained there.
In a visit to Beijing on Monday, Koizumi is scheduled to visit the Marco Polo Bridge, the site of a 1937 clash that Japan allegedly used as an excuse to launch war on China, and a museum commemorating China's anti-Japan movement, officials said.
