OSAKA -- Two men robbed a cash-delivery car of some 50 million yen Friday morning in Kishiwada, Osaka Prefecture, but left cases containing 180 million yen more in the vehicle, police said.
The robbers smashed the windscreen of the car with a hammer upon its arrival at a parking lot owned by the Shimomatsu branch of Senshu Shinkin Bank at about 9:15 a.m., investigators said.
They then attacked the driver, Kusuo Shimada, using mace, and snatched two duralumin cases containing cash from the back seat of the vehicle, they said.
