Airlines canceled all passenger flights Friday from Japan to U.S. airports in the face of stricter security requirements to prevent hijackings, Japan Airlines said.
Flights to U.S. destinations were to resume this morning.
JAL initially planned to resume the 24 daily flights to U.S. cities Friday, but was forced to wait for information and approval from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration.
