Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi has promised U.S. President George W. Bush that Japan will provide its "utmost support and cooperation" in the fight against terrorism.
Koizumi addressed reporters in person after a 10-minute phone conversation with Bush on Thursday night, saying he conveyed his government's "strong support for the Bush administration and American people who are determined to fight against terrorism acts."
"I told him it would be hard for him to stand against invisible enemies, but this is an attack on liberty, peace and democracy, not only on America," Koizumi said.
