The Liberal Democratic Party has drafted a set of employment measures to help those rendered jobless by corporate restructuring, officials said Thursday.
The measures, drafted by an internal panel, call on the government to give financial assistance to companies who use job placement agents to help downsized employees find new jobs and increase staff in a semiofficial Tokyo corporation supporting such re-employment, they said.
The panel on labor policy, chaired by LDP Executive Council Chairman Mitsuo Horiuchi, plans to put the measures into a bill and submit it to an extra Diet session expected to convene on Sept. 27, they said.
