Consumers are evenly divided over whether to slap emergency curbs on towel imports from China and Vietnam, according to a government opinion poll released Tuesday.
Of 322 consumers involved in the poll completed Aug. 3, supporters of the curb, at 34 percent, nearly matched the opponents' 32 percent, according to the poll by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
The consumers are among 506 people polled under a six-month government probe launched April 16 into whether to cap imports.
