Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi said Friday that it is necessary to draw up a specific timetable for reform initiatives to promote understanding and support.
Koizumi agreed with key members of his Cabinet that implementation of his initiatives should be accelerated and that a timetable of key reform items should be announced as soon as possible.
"We need to think of expressions that would make the specific plans easier to understand," Koizumi told reporters at the Prime Minister's Official Residence, where the meeting was held.
