Gateway Japan Inc. said Wednesday it has shut down its operations in Japan and will lay off all of its 698 employees, including directors.
The Yokohama-based company, a Japanese unit of U.S. computer manufacturer Gateway Inc., said it will continue to provide customer support and repair services.
The announcement comes in the wake of a Gateway streamlining program that covers the Asia-Pacific region.
